About Tash Rabat Caravanserai, Naryn

Tash Rabat is a stone caravanserai standing at about 3,500 metres in a remote valley of the Naryn Region, on an old Silk Road route towards Kashgar in China and the Torugart Pass. Most historians date the present building to the 15th century, though the site may be older. Inside its thick walls, a central domed hall is surrounded by about thirty small rooms where travellers and their animals could shelter from the cold. In summer, herders set up their yurts on the green pastures around it.

Puzzle tip: the stone building is a clear centre; the grassy slopes and the clouds are best sorted by their shades.
