About Toruń across the Vistula

Toruń stands on the bank of the Vistula in northern Poland. It was founded in 1233 by the Teutonic Knights and became a rich Hanseatic trading town, and its old centre, built of red brick, survived the Second World War almost undamaged. The astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, who argued that the Earth moves around the Sun, was born here in 1473. Toruń is also famous for its gingerbread, baked here since the Middle Ages. Seen from the far bank, the old walls, Gothic churches and town hall are reflected in the wide river. The old town has been a World Heritage Site since 1997.

Puzzle tip: start with the line of the old town and its reflection; the wide river and the sky take the most patience.
