About Old Market Square, Poznań

Poznań, in western Poland, is one of the oldest cities in the country: on its cathedral island the first Polish ruler, Mieszko I, is believed to have been baptised in 966. The centre of the old town is the Old Market Square, lined with tall merchants' houses and, in the middle, a row of narrow arcaded houses painted in bright colours, where traders once sold salt, candles and fish. Above them stands the Renaissance town hall. Every day at noon two mechanical goats come out on its tower and butt their heads together twelve times.

Puzzle tip: start with the colourful houses, one by one; the people on the square and the sky come last.
