About Tsingy de Bemaraha, Madagascar

The Tsingy de Bemaraha in western Madagascar is a forest of razor-sharp limestone pinnacles, carved by rain over millions of years. Its name comes from a Malagasy word meaning "where one cannot walk barefoot". Rope bridges and ladders lead visitors over the stone needles, and lemurs, birds and chameleons live in the canyons below. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Puzzle tip: the rope bridge crosses the middle, so start there; the grey pinnacles are best sorted by their shadows.
