About Tsūtenkaku Tower and Shinsekai, Osaka

Shinsekai, meaning "New World", is an old entertainment district in Osaka. It was built in 1912, with its northern half modelled on Paris and its southern half on the amusement park of Coney Island in New York. At its heart stands Tsūtenkaku, a tower inspired by the Eiffel Tower; the present one, about 100 metres high, was built in 1956. The narrow streets around it are packed with colourful signs and small restaurants serving kushikatsu, skewers of meat and vegetables fried in breadcrumbs.

Puzzle tip: the tower in the middle is the key piece; the colourful signs on each side are best sorted by colour.
