The Bahamas is a chain of around 700 islands and cays in the Atlantic, just south-east of Florida, surrounded by some of the clearest water on Earth. Our Bahamas puzzles show the shallows of the Exumas, a pink sand beach and the colonial buildings of Nassau.

The islands sit on shallow limestone banks, which give the sea its many shades of turquoise; the name Bahamas is often said to come from the Spanish baja mar, meaning shallow sea. In the Exuma Cays, a group of pigs famously swims out to meet visiting boats.
On Harbour Island, the sand has a soft pink colour, made by tiny red-shelled sea creatures mixed with coral sand. In Nassau, the capital, pink government buildings from the colonial era stand near the harbour.
