About Mont-Saint-Michel from the Air at Low Tide

From above you can see how small Mont-Saint-Michel really is: the island is only about a kilometre around, yet it holds an abbey, a parish church, shops, hotels and around thirty permanent residents. For centuries a road on a causeway led to it, but the causeway made sand build up around the rock. In 2014 it was replaced by a light bridge that lets the water flow freely again, so that at the highest tides the Mont becomes a true island once more. This aerial photo shows it at low tide, surrounded by pale sand.

Puzzle tip: start with the abbey and the dark trees on the island, then the walls and the bridge, and finish with the sand and water.
