About The Apollo Fountain, Versailles

At the end of the long lawn below the palace lies the Apollo Fountain, made between 1668 and 1670 by the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Tuby. It shows the sun god Apollo in his chariot, pulled by four horses, rising out of the water at the start of a new day, an image chosen because Louis XIV called himself the Sun King. The figures are made of lead and covered in gold. When the fountains are turned on for shows, jets of water spray up around the horses. In this photo the golden group sits low on a wide, still basin, with the woods of the park behind.

Puzzle tip: start with the golden horses and chariot, then the dark line of trees, and finish with the water and the grey sky.
