About Lake Annecy from the Mountains

Lake Annecy is the second largest natural lake entirely in France, about fourteen kilometres long, set between steep mountains in the Alps. It is famous for its clear, clean water. In the 1960s the towns around it built a ring of sewers to stop waste flowing into the lake, and it became one of the cleanest lakes in Europe, where people swim in summer. Paragliders often launch from the slopes above it and drift for hours over the water. This view from the mountainside looks along the turquoise lake, with villages on the shore and a row of peaks beyond.

Puzzle tip: start with the villages and fields on the shore, then the turquoise lake, and finish with the mountains and the clouds.
