About Snowy Chalets in Megève

Megève is a ski resort in the French Alps, about twenty kilometres west of Mont Blanc. In the 1920s Baroness Noémie de Rothschild, looking for a French rival to the Swiss resort of St Moritz, chose this old farming village and built a grand hotel on the slopes above it. Megève soon became one of the most elegant winter resorts in France, yet it has kept its medieval centre with a church and a cobbled square, where horse-drawn sleighs carry visitors in winter. In this photo wooden chalets covered in fresh snow sit among white trees, with a row of peaks behind.

Puzzle tip: start with the brown wooden chalets, then the snowy trees, and finish with the mountains and the pale blue sky.
