About White Terraces of Hsinbyume Pagoda, Mingun

Hsinbyume Pagoda stands in Mingun, on the western bank of the Irrawaddy River opposite Mandalay. It was built in 1816 by Prince Bagyidaw, who later became king, in memory of his first wife, Princess Hsinbyume. Its seven wavy white terraces represent the seven mountain ranges that surround Mount Meru, the centre of the universe in Buddhist cosmology, with the stupa at the top as the sacred mountain itself. In this photo, a visitor in blue climbs the white terraces under a deep blue sky.

Puzzle tip: the white terraces all look alike, so use their curved edges and shadows; the blue sky comes last.
