About Smederevo Fortress Walls

Smederevo Fortress stands beside the Danube east of Belgrade. Built in the fifteenth century, it became the capital stronghold of the medieval Serbian Despotate. Long stone walls and towers still define the site, although parts were damaged in later centuries and have been restored. A cobbled path leads the eye towards the fortress walls in this photograph. It is one of the largest lowland fortresses in Europe, with 25 towers along its walls.

Puzzle tip: follow the cobbled path first, then fit the walls and towers at its end.
