About Kalemegdan Fortress, Belgrade

Belgrade Fortress occupies a high point above the meeting of the Sava and Danube rivers. Its walls reflect many periods of Serbian and wider Balkan history, while Kalemegdan Park now surrounds the old defences. The riverside position explains why the site was important to successive rulers. The aerial image shows fortress walls and green parkland above the river. From the fortress, the Victor monument, a statue of a man holding a falcon and a sword, looks out over the meeting of the two rivers.

Puzzle tip: trace the fortress walls first, then divide trees and river into colour blocks.
