About Autumn Path through a Historic Paris Cemetery

At the start of the 19th century Paris closed its overcrowded old churchyards, moved the bones from many of them into the underground quarries now known as the Catacombs, and opened large new cemeteries on what was then the edge of the city. Families built small stone chapels for their dead along cobbled lanes, and the cemeteries became quiet cities of their own, with street names and numbered divisions. Many famous writers, composers and painters lie in them. In this photo a cobbled path lined with chapel tombs leads away under yellow autumn trees.

Puzzle tip: the dark stone chapels on both sides are the place to start; the cobbles and the leaves come next.
