About Crater of Poás Volcano

Poás is an active volcano in the Central Valley, only about 50 kilometres from San José, and rises to 2,708 metres. Its main crater is about 1.3 kilometres across and holds Laguna Caliente, a hot lake that is one of the most acidic natural lakes in the world. Steam and gas often rise from it, and the lake sometimes dries out or changes colour. A strong eruption in 2017 closed the national park for more than a year. This aerial photo shows the wide crater with clouds and steam drifting over its rim.

Puzzle tip: work around the rim of the crater first, then fill the grey slopes and the drifting steam.
