About Red Elephant and Zebras in Tsavo

Tsavo East and Tsavo West together make up one of the largest protected areas in Africa, larger than many countries. The elephants here often look red, because they dust and bathe in the iron-rich red soil to protect their skin from sun and insects. Tsavo became famous in 1898, when two maneless lions killed many workers building the railway from Mombasa to Uganda, a story told in the book and film about 'the man-eaters of Tsavo'. This photo shows a red-dusted elephant walking past zebras on the dry red plain, with hills behind.

Puzzle tip: start with the red elephant and the zebras, then fill the red ground and the hills in the distance.
