About Elephants by the River in Samburu

Every day elephants come down to the Ewaso Ng'iro River in Samburu National Reserve to drink, bathe and dig for water in the sandy riverbed during the dry season. The reserve is the base of Save the Elephants, a research group founded in 1993 by the zoologist Iain Douglas-Hamilton, which fits elephants with GPS collars to learn how they travel between protected areas and farmland. Doum palms, with their forked trunks, grow along the river, and their fruit is a favourite of the elephants. This photo shows an elephant family walking through the bush with hills behind.

Puzzle tip: start with the elephants in front, then fill the green bushes and palms and the hills on the horizon.
