About Hluboká Castle

Hluboká Castle stands on a hill above the Vltava River in South Bohemia, a few kilometres north of České Budějovice. Between 1840 and 1871 the Schwarzenberg family rebuilt an older castle here in the Tudor Gothic style, taking England's Windsor Castle as their model. The result is a white castle with battlements, turrets and pointed windows, surrounded by gardens and a large English-style park. Inside, its rooms still hold the family's wood carvings, tapestries and collections. The castle is one of the most visited in the country.

Puzzle tip: start with the white towers and battlements; the flower beds and the sky come last.
