About Foteviken Viking Village, Höllviken

Foteviken, on the coast of Skåne near Höllviken in southern Sweden, is an open-air museum where a whole Viking-Age town has been rebuilt with timber houses, workshops, a harbour and a town wall. Craftspeople dressed in Viking clothes work there as blacksmiths, weavers and woodworkers, and every summer a large Viking market brings reenactors from all over Europe. In 1134 a famous sea battle between rival Danish kings was fought in the bay just offshore, when southern Sweden was part of Denmark. This photo, taken from the watchtower, looks over the houses towards the sea.

Puzzle tip: start with the path and the wooden houses, then the green trees and the blue sea at the top.
