About Aït Benhaddou, Morocco

Aït Benhaddou is a fortified village, or ksar, of earthen houses and towers on a hillside above the Ounila River, on the old caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. Its buildings are made of rammed earth and clay bricks and must be repaired after heavy rains. It has appeared in many films and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Puzzle tip: the earthen towers stand out against the blue sky; the trees and the riverbed come next.
