About Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus

The theatre of Epidaurus, in the Peloponnese, was built in the late 300s BC in the sanctuary of Asclepius, the god of medicine, where the sick came to be healed. It holds about 14,000 people, and its sound is famous: a coin dropped or a match struck on the round stage can be heard in the top rows. It is the best preserved theatre of ancient Greece, and every summer ancient Greek plays are still staged here. Around it, pine-covered hills and the mountains of the Argolid fill the view.

Puzzle tip: start with the round stage and the rows of seats; the pine trees come next, and the mountains and the sky go last.
