About Castel dell'Ovo on the Waterfront, Naples

Castel dell'Ovo stands on the small island of Megaride beside the waterfront of Naples. The site has a long history, from Roman occupation to the medieval fortress that became one of the city's best-known landmarks. Its name, the Castle of the Egg, comes from a legend linking the poet Virgil with a protective egg hidden in its foundations. This photograph shows the stone walls rising directly above the sea, with small boats and the surrounding waterfront giving a sense of the castle's close relationship with the bay.

Puzzle tip: assemble the fortress outline and dark openings first, then connect the boats and blue water.
