About Cusco and the Plaza de Armas

Cusco, high in the Andes of Peru, was the capital of the Inca Empire before the Spanish arrived in the 16th century. The Spanish built churches and mansions on top of Inca walls, and many of the original stone foundations can still be seen. At the centre of the city lies the Plaza de Armas with its cathedral, and red-tiled roofs spread up the hills all around.

Puzzle tip: the green plaza and the cathedral are the centre of the picture; the red rooftops need patience, so work on them in small groups.
