About Piazza del Popolo from Above, Rome

Piazza del Popolo lies just inside Rome's northern city gate, where travellers once entered from the Via Flaminia. An ancient Egyptian obelisk stands in the square, while two domed churches mark the streets leading into the historic centre. The broad layout seen today developed during an early nineteenth-century redesign associated with Giuseppe Valadier. In this elevated photograph, the open paving, obelisk and church domes can be read together, showing how architecture and empty space were arranged to create a ceremonial entrance to Rome.

Puzzle tip: begin with the obelisk and domes, then use the curved edges of the square to organise the paving.
