About South-East Coast of Upolu

The south-east coast of Upolu is a shore of black volcanic rock, coconut palms and small villages, linked by a road that winds along the sea. Behind the coast, the land rises to a green ridge that runs along the middle of the island. Most Samoans still live in villages led by chiefs called matai, and life follows fa'a Samoa, the Samoan way, with its strong ties to family, church and land. This photo, taken near Lotofaga, looks east past tall palms and dark rocks towards the island of Nu'utele in the distance.

Puzzle tip: start with the tall palms and the dark rocks, then build the blue sea and the white waves.
