About The Roman Forum

For centuries the Roman Forum was the centre of public life in ancient Rome, a crowded square of temples, law courts and government buildings. Triumphal processions passed along its Sacred Way, and orators spoke to the crowds from its platforms. After the empire fell it was slowly buried and even used as a cow pasture, until archaeologists uncovered it in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Puzzle tip: the tall columns stand out against the sky; the ruins on the ground are best sorted by colour.
