Cape Verde is a group of ten volcanic islands in the Atlantic Ocean, off the west coast of Africa, known for its music, sea breezes and dramatic mountain scenery. Our Cape Verde puzzles visit the islands of São Vicente and Santo Antão.
Mindelo, on São Vicente, is the cultural capital of the islands, a colourful port town famous for its music and its lively carnival. It was the home of the singer Cesária Évora, who brought the gentle songs called morna to audiences around the world.
On neighbouring Santo Antão, steep green mountains drop straight into the sea, and old cobbled paths such as the coastal trail at Ponta do Sol link villages clinging to the cliffs.
