About Lesotho
The kingdom was founded in the 1820s by King Moshoeshoe I on the flat-topped mountain of Thaba Bosiu, and it became independent from Britain in 1966. Lesotho is called the Kingdom in the Sky: its highlands are cut by deep valleys and waterfalls, snow falls on the peaks in winter, and many villages can still be reached only on foot or on horseback. The colourful woollen blanket and the cone-shaped mokorotlo hat are proud symbols of the Basotho people.
You can put together Maletsunyane Falls, horse riders near Semonkong, a mountain village, round Basotho houses and two Basotho horsemen.
