About Basotho Horsemen

Basotho horsemen wrapped in colourful woollen blankets are one of the best-known sights of Lesotho. The blankets, worn like cloaks, protect against the cold winds of the highlands, and their patterns mark special moments in life, such as a wedding, the birth of a child or a boy becoming a man. Together with the cone-shaped mokorotlo hat, the blanket is a proud symbol of Basotho identity. This photo shows two riders on horseback crossing open grassland, with mountains and a blue sky behind them.

Puzzle tip: start with the riders and their horses, then the mountains, and the grassland and the sky last.
