About Lavender Fields in Nakafurano, Hokkaido

The Furano valley in central Hokkaido is famous for its lavender, which blooms in rows of purple from early to late July. Lavender was planted here from the 1950s for perfume oil, and when that trade declined, a few farms in Nakafurano kept their fields, which later became one of the best-known summer sights in Japan. Behind the valley rise the volcanic peaks of the Tokachi range. In this photo a wide purple field stretches beneath green trees and the blue mountains.

Puzzle tip: start with the purple lavender field, then the trees and the small building, and finish with the mountains and the sky.
