About Candelabra Tree on the Savanna, Queen Elizabeth National Park

The tall, cactus-like candelabra tree is a common sight on the plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is not a cactus at all but a euphorbia, and its thick green branches are full of a white, milky sap that is poisonous and can burn the skin and eyes. The open grasslands of the park are home to herds of Uganda kob, the antelope that appears on the country's coat of arms, as well as buffaloes, warthogs and lions. In this photo a candelabra tree rises from golden grass, with a kob grazing in the background.

Puzzle tip: the round green tree in the middle is the place to begin; the golden grass and the hazy hills follow.
