About Erawan Falls, Kanchanaburi

Erawan Falls in Kanchanaburi Province drops through the forest in seven tiers, and a trail of about two kilometres leads past all of them. The falls are named after Erawan, the three-headed white elephant of Hindu legend, because the top tier is said to look like its heads. The water is rich in limestone, which settles on the rocks and builds natural steps and dams, and it gives the pools their milky turquoise colour. Small fish in the pools nibble at swimmers' feet. The photo shows water flowing over rocky steps among green trees.

Puzzle tip: start with the pale water and its rocky steps, then work outwards into the green leaves.
