About Lava Coast of O Le Pupu-Pu'e National Park

O Le Pupu-Pu'e National Park was set up in 1978 as Samoa's first national park. Its name means from the coast to the mountain top, and it stretches from the south shore of Upolu up to the forested ridge in the middle of the island. On the coast, black lava flows meet the Pacific in cliffs, sea arches and blowholes, and a walking trail follows the old lava field. This aerial photo shows the jagged volcanic shore, with white surf breaking around rocky islets and green forest above the cliffs.

Puzzle tip: start with the white surf and the dark rocks, then the green forest and the deep blue sea.
