About Fishing Boats on the River Gambia

The Gambia is the smallest country on the African mainland: a narrow strip of land, in most places less than 50 kilometres wide, that follows the River Gambia for more than 300 kilometres inland and is surrounded by Senegal on every side except the coast. The river rises in the Fouta Djallon highlands of Guinea and flows about 1,100 kilometres to the Atlantic, and for centuries it has been the country's main road. Fishing boats and ferries still carry people and goods along its wide lower reaches. This aerial photo shows fishing boats moored on the calm water, with green land along the banks.

Puzzle tip: start with the boats and their wakes, then the green banks, and the calm water last.
