About Golden Temple Spires, Thailand

Thai temples, or wats, are known for their golden spires, steep layered roofs and gleaming decorations of glass mosaic and gold leaf. The roof ends curve up into slender points called chofa, often said to represent the mythical Garuda bird. There are more than 40,000 temples across Thailand, and many serve as schools and community centres as well as places of worship.

Puzzle tip: the golden spires and roofs are full of detail; the blue sky comes last.
