About Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Athens

The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a stone theatre on the southern slope of the Acropolis, built in AD 161 by a wealthy Roman citizen in memory of his wife. Its steep semicircle of seats holds about 5,000 people. Restored in the 1950s, it is still used for concerts, opera and drama during the summer Athens Festival, with the ruins of its high stone wall as a backdrop.

Puzzle tip: the curved rows of seats are the easiest part; the arched wall and the hills behind come next.
