About Spanish Steps and Barcaccia Fountain, Rome

The Spanish Steps connect Piazza di Spagna with the church of Trinità dei Monti on the hill above. Built in the eighteenth century, the broad staircase divides and joins again as it climbs, creating a meeting place as well as a route between two levels of Rome. At its foot sits the Barcaccia fountain, shaped like a low boat. This photograph looks up from the square towards the church's twin towers, with the fountain, stairways and warm-coloured houses arranged around the central climb.

Puzzle tip: build the central staircase and twin church towers first, then add the fountain and coloured buildings.
