About Todai-ji Reflected in a Pond, Nara

Todai-ji in Nara was founded in the eighth century, when Nara was the capital of Japan, and its Great Buddha Hall shelters a bronze Buddha about fifteen metres tall. The present hall was rebuilt in 1709 and is about a third narrower than the original, yet it is still one of the largest wooden buildings in the world. In this photo the dark hall with its golden roof ornaments is mirrored in the still water of the pond in front of it, framed by pine trees.

Puzzle tip: start with the hall and its reflection, then the pine trees, and finish with the blue sky and clouds.
